But how do we train at our Dog Sport Workshops?
These classes will be limited to five dogs and only one person to attend both outside and inside classes with their dog per household. You must also wear a mask if indoors. This is due to current government guidelines with Coronavirus. Your dog MUST be okay to be around other dogs and people.
Dog Parkour Workshop
Price: £45 (two 90 minute sessions)
Dog Parkour is described as 'urban agility' and its something that I have been doing with my dogs for many years now. Some of which have earned their own Parkour titles through International Dog Parkour Association. I was lucky enough to meet the founders of the IDPA back in 2018 for a Instructors 2-day Course. What I love most about Parkour is that you can do it absolutely anywhere. It isn't as simple as it sounds though. Care has to be taken as this is a physical discipline. Leash skills need to be improved and only certain equipment can be worn to ensure safety to your dog.
Novice/Intermediate Trick Training Workshop
Price: £45 (two 90 minute sessions)
I have been a trick trainer since getting IO back in 2013. All three of my dogs are trained to do simple up to more complex tricks. They all have various different trick titles thanks to Do More With Your Dog, of which these tricks will be based on. My dogs trick titles are actually on their title holders list too. This is a beginners workshop so we would be doing beginner tricks from the DMWYD. Follow-on trick workshops would also become available if students wished to continue with more advanced tricks. So why tricks? Tricks teaches focus, teaches skills and most importantly promotes and improves the bond between owner and dog. Plus who doesn't want to show off to their friends and family what they're trained their dog to do? If you end up on a talent contest, don't forget to mention us!
